Last updated: 7 October 2026. These terms apply to everyone who uses Cliptect, whether you join as a Clipper or launch a campaign as a Creator. By creating an account you confirm you have read and accept them.
1. What Cliptect is
Cliptect is a marketplace and software platform that matches Creators (brands, podcasts and rights holders) with independent video editors called Clippers. Creators fund a tournament, publish a short-form brief, and release raw footage from a private vault. Clippers produce clips, and the strongest verified performers share a guaranteed prize pool.
Cliptect is the software operator. It is not the employer or agent of any Clipper, and it does not own the footage Creators upload or the finished clips Clippers publish.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) and able to form a binding contract.
One person, one account. Duplicate or shared accounts are removed and any pending balance is forfeited.
You must give accurate information, including your real social handles, and keep it current. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
You decide which social channels you connect. Connecting a channel gives Cliptect read-only access to the public profile and performance data you authorise, and you can disconnect at any time.
3. Channel ranks
When you register channels, Cliptect adds together the average views across the connected platforms and places you in a rank: Academy Cadet (0–999 combined average views), Bronze Tier (1,000–25,000), Silver Tier (25,001–150,000) or Gold Tier (150,001+).
Ranks are an eligibility tool, not a guarantee of income. Academy Cadets can keep practising but cannot enter cash tournaments until they cross the 1,000 combined-average-view threshold.
Ranks can move up or down as your channels change, and can be lowered or removed if data is found to be manipulated.
4. Campaigns, escrow and refunds
A Creator sets a prize pool and a duration when launching a campaign. The pool is held as a secured escrow budget line, not paid out to Cliptect as revenue.
A campaign starts only once the Clipper team meets the Creator's combined view and comment targets within seven days of opening. If the targets are never met, the campaign expires and the escrow is returned to the Creator.
Prize money is distributed automatically to the top five ranked Clippers at the end of a live campaign, split 40% / 25% / 15% / 12% / 8%.
Payouts are delivered through our payment provider and follow its identity, tax and payout rules. If a payout cannot be completed, the amount stays in escrow until it is fixed.
5. Ad-revenue sharing
For clips produced from a Creator's vault, ad revenue is shared 80% to the Clipper who published the clip, 10% to the Creator whose content it is, and 10% to Cliptect as platform fees.
The share is calculated on the platform's reported ad revenue for the clip. Where a platform does not report revenue, no share is owed.
6. Conduct limits
No traffic manipulation. Bots, view farms, engagement pods, purchased followers and any boost software mean immediate link removal, zero payout and a permanent ban.
No brand leakage. Vault footage may only be used for the campaign it was released for, and clips must carry the required approval overlay and the Creator's call-to-action rules.
No impersonation, no passing off another brand's footage as your own work, and no mixing unlicensed third-party material into a campaign clip.
Creators must only fund campaigns for footage they own or are licensed to distribute.
7. Your content and permissions
You keep ownership of everything you upload or publish. You grant Cliptect the limited permission it needs to run the service: to store and display your footage to qualifying Clippers, to show your clip and metrics on leaderboards, and to verify your channel.
A Creator grants every approved Clipper a non-exclusive licence to edit and publish a campaign clip from the vault for the campaign's duration, under the Creator's stated guidelines.
You can ask us to remove content you own; we'll action valid requests unless we must keep a copy for legal, safety or dispute reasons.
8. Data and privacy
How we collect, use, share and delete personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Availability, changes and end of an account
The service is provided as available. We can change features, ranks, fees or the rules, and we can pause or stop a campaign where it is needed to protect users or the integrity of results.
Social platforms change their own APIs and policies. Where a platform stops supplying the data a feature relies on, that feature may be limited or withdrawn.
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we can keep fraud records after closure.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Legal Disclaimer: Cliptect operates strictly as a decentralized software marketplace and data infrastructure platform. Cliptect does not control, create, or take responsibility for user-generated video submissions, clipper channel behaviors, or third-party platform algorithm variances. By funding an escrow campaign, the Creator acknowledges that tournament prize distribution is handled programmatically based on verified API traffic milestones, and agrees that Cliptect, its founders, and affiliates are held completely immune from any future financial liabilities, channel shadowbans, or legal disputes arising from distributed content.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cliptect is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through Cliptect in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Contact
